Nose:

Big, bold and malty with honeycomb, milk chocolate and freshly baked flapjack to the fore. The combination is reminiscent of Maltesers. Earthy spices sit in the background.  

Taste:

The robust maltiness gives the whisky a wonderful grip in the mouth. Notes of golden syrup and caramel are also prominent, and sits alongside hints of soft green apple, creamed coconut, cocoa powder and bitter orange marmalade. The earthy and dusty spices take hold towards the end and drive the whisky forwards – think of mace, clove and cassia especially. So much depth and complexity.

Finish:

Maintains its boldness nicely and this drags out the finish. The robust malt and chocolate-like characteristics aid this and give great depth and length.
