Nose:

Sweet and malty with delicious green apple, vanilla and custard powder with pinches of cinnamon, ginger, cocoa powder and desiccated coconut. A robust, almost biscuity maltiness sits underneath – think of digestives with a hint of flapjack.

Taste:

Creamy and viscous in the mouth, almost oily. The apple, plus brown sugar and butterscotch notes combine and are reminiscent of a baked tarte tatin. Hints of waxy burnt orange peel, milk chocolate and icing sugar also come through. Warming spices round things off, along with some freshly sawn oak and delicate tannins.

Finish:

Sublime. The viscosity draws out the finish superbly as the sweet and fruity characteristics slowly dissipate. The tarte tatin and creamy chocolate remain to great effect.
